Homemade Peach Cobbler

Homemade Peach Cobbler

This peach cobbler receipe is over 40 years old and has been published in several church cookbooks. Fresh peaches, if available, are perfect in this receipe but if you cannot find them, a jar of peaches will do. Use the following ingredients.

4 to 5 fresh peaches or a jar of peaches
1 cup of all purpose flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of kosher salt
1 stick of unsalted butter
¾ cup of milk regular
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
¼ teaspoon of fresh grated nutmeg
You also need ½ cup of light brown sugar.

Peel, cut, and slice your fresh peaches. Place peaches and the extra ½ cup of light brown sugar n micro able safe dish and warm until sugar is melted. Sprinkle this with 2/3 of the cinnamon and nutmeg spices. Mix, heat oven to 350 F Place the stick of the unsalted butter in 9 x 12 glass ovenproof dish and melt. Mix the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining 1/3 of spices together, add the 3/4 cup of milk. Stir. Add the batter to the melted butter in large 9 X 12 ovenproof dish, do not stir. Place peaches in the center of batter, do not stir. You can sprinkle a little of cinnamon over the top of the batter. Do not cover dish. Batter will cover peaches when it bakes. Bake at 350 F for 40 minutes or until top is medium brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream. Enjoy!

I also have added two great Corn Chowder receipes. One from scratch and the other from a dried pack of mixture. Like my blog and these are the next receipes that I will post.
