A series of Islands and bridges along route 21, heading east from Beaufort, SC, bring you to Fripp Island. Fripp is a private, guard-gated 3,000 acre community surrounded by pristine marshlands, offering a relaxed atmosphere away from the noise, traffic and pressures of a busy world. Since 1963, the year modern development began, the lush natural sub-tropical beauty and carefully planned amenities have drawn permanent residents, vacationers, second homeowners and even movie makers! (Scenes from “Forest Gump”, Disney’s “Jungle Book” and “The Prince of Tides” were filmed on Fripp.)
Whatever you enjoy, you will find Fripp Island a great place to live, vacation, or just get away from it all for a week-end. Come and experience the home-town atmosphere! We have soft sea breezes, moonlit beaches, 2 award-winning golf courses, a deep-water full service marina, a tennis center, biking, swimming, fishing and so much more that includes a very active community center where most of the clubs on the Island meet and where there is a non-denominational service every Wednesday evening. And the best part is that you get to enjoy all this in the comfort of our sub-tropical climate.
I (John Lee) have called Fripp Island “home” since mid 1996, enjoying the modern facilities in a unique setting which makes the Island one of the best kept secrets on the South Carolina coast. Come, visit with us, and discover the quality of life and relaxed atmosphere that our Island has to offer.
Fripp Island real estate offers something for almost everyone, from elegant ocean front homes to very modest efficiency units (Sunsuites). The locations are also varied, from marsh front to golf course to lush sub-tropical interior home-sites with palmettos and moss-draped live oaks. And if the available existing homes are not exactly to your liking, we still have a reasonable number of undeveloped home sites to choose from, on which to build your own dream home.
If you find property that is of interest to you, please contact us as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. Fripp Island differs from many gated communities in that the amenities and facilities on the Island are owned by a privately held corporation. In order to gain access to those amenities and facilities, property owners must first join the club and pay their dues accordingly. (further information supplied upon request). Amenities include restaurants, swimming pool complexes, the Beach Club, golf, tennis, etc., but does not include the beach! Also, membership is not mandatory. They also operate a rental and maintainence operation to assist property owners who desire to rent their property if they are not utilizing it.
Purchasing a property is just the first step, then you need to maintain it! We provide you with a good-faith estimate of Fripp Island Property Ownership Cost and Annual Fripp Club Dues.
