Welcome to Fripp Island!

Enjoy the small island paradise that is located on the east coast of South Carolina.  Often referred to as the Lowcountry, the lifestyle on Fripp is relaxed and quaint.  The island is home to two fantastic Golf Courses, a Racquet Club, a Marina, Restaurants, Pools, and of course, BEACHES!  This island offers something for everyone.

Where is Fripp Island?

Located outside of Beaufort, Highway 21 takes you through the sea islands of Lady’s Island, St. Helena, Harbor Island, Hunting Island, and then onto Fripp Island.  The entrance of Fripp starts at the Fripp Inlet Bridge which leads to the security gate.

What makes Fripp different?

It has many amenities to offer such as golf courses, tennis courts, marina with gasoline, restaurants, and pools.  It also has walking trails, Camp Fripp, fishing, boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, scooters, and community events.  The Fire Department and EMT on island as well as a Security Operations offer 24 hour/7 day services to everyone on the island.

In addition to the amenities, residents and tourists alike can enjoy community events such as ice cream socials and shag dance parties.  Recurring monthly events are put on by different groups of interest such as Women’s Group Luncheons, Fripp Friends Dinner Group, Friends of Music, and more.

Fripp Island is a wildlife sanctuary with local wildlife such as Loggerhead Turtles, deer, alligators, raccoons, and too many birds to name!

Join Fripp’s Audubon Club to meet other nature lovers or try the Turtle Patrol Team who meet daily to mark and count the turtle nests.

Can you drive the golf carts on the road?

Yes!  Once on Fripp, the best mode of transportation is a golf cart.   Bicycles, golf carts, scooters are the most fun ways to see the island.  Cars are welcome, but the speed limit is 25 mph on most streets with a few at 15 mph.

Are there local events in Beaufort?
